One of the most authentic, charming, honest, talented and fun men I have ever known.
I first met Wally when my mentor, Don Burkhimer at RCA, asked me to audition The Hues Corporation for a possible album deal at the label. Oh, I’m so glad I did!
Wally charmed me from day one, and even though we had our musical differences, we had a blast working together in and out of the studio. And his insistence that we re-record “Rock the Boat” was a game changer for all concerned. We actually had a #1 record together thanks to Wally.
Even after I left as the group’s producer, Carol and I would go to his fabulous trumpet concerts. Wow, was he good!
Wally, this wonderful man, is often in my dreams and will always be in my heart.
Much love and happy, joyous prayers to Wally and Ava.
